Burma Election

Having gone to Myanmar (Burma) to witness the first free election in 50 years, I was not surprised to see a high level of enthusiasm for the party hoping to unseat the oppressive military dictatorship. In the days before the election, long parades of young and old supporters filled the streets of cities and villages all over the country. I took this photograph from the back of a motorcycle while a young supporter tries to hand out a flag.
